Sarah Ann Long was born on 18 March 1820 in Greene Co., Pennsylvania, daughter of of Jeremiah and Jane Jones Long. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister.
She married Richard C. Morgan in 1836 in Tyler County, Virginia, when she was sixteen; they had two known children, both sons:
Samuel L. Morgan (1839 - 1923)
John Morgan (1839 - 1885)
Sarah Morgan died on 18 April 1890, a month after she turned seventy, Sarah died of old age and "paralysis" (a stroke?) in Green, Wetzel County, West Virginia.
