James V. Long, age 86, of Williamsburg, KY, passed away Sunday December 21, 2014 at Baptist Health Corbin in Corbin, KY. He was born June 3, 1928 in Elk Valley, TN to the late AJ Long and the late Dessie Silcox Long. James was a member of the Emlyn Church of God. He loved the church and loved to sing.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers Arnold Long, AZ Long, Estil Long, RJ Long, and 1 sister Alberta Lawson.

He is survived by his wife Malinda Long of Williamsburg, KY, 1 son James Carroll Long of San Clemente, California, 1 daughter Penny Gullett (Danny) of Oxford, Michigan, 1 step-daughter Patricia Rains Wilson (Carl) of Williamsburg, KY, 4 grandchildren Angela Long, Jamie Long, Chris Long, and Melissa Gullett, 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters Goldie Reedy (Herbert) of Utica, KY, Lucille Bullock, Fairfield, OH, Betty Jackson of Midtown, TN, 2 brothers, Floyd Long (Barbara) of Corbin, KY, Rev. Harold Long (Janice) of Emlyn, KY, several nieces, nephews, special friends Willard & Maymie Douglas of Williamsburg, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday December 27, 2014 at the Emlyn Church of God with Rev. Bob Bunch, Rev. Harold Long, and Rev. Russell Creekmore officiating. Following the service he will be laid to rest in the Wofford Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6:00PM Friday December 26, 2014 at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel. ^[1]
