John Murphy Long was born on 2 May 1825 in Ohio.[1]
He married Mary Elizabeth Wingate about 1845.[2][1]
Based on the place of birth of their children, the family moved to Louisiana about 1858. He was a farmer when he and Mary appeared on the census of 29 June 1860 at Winn Parish, Louisiana.[3] He was a farmer when he and Mary appeared on the census of 2 June 1880 at Winn Parish, Louisiana.[4]
John died in 1902 at Winn Parish, Louisiana and was buried at Corinth Tabernacle Cemetery, Winn Parish, Louisiana. His memorial has a photo of his headstone shared with Mary and links to those of their children.[1]
