Biography

Birth and parents : Ulrich Longenecker, son of Ulrich, was born c.1711.[1][2]

Immigration to Pennsylvania : Ulrich arrived in Pennsylvania with his father (Ulrich, age 69) and brother (Jacob, age 19) aboard the Hope, from Rotterdam via Cowes, aged 22. [1][2] He patented two tracts of land : 142 acres in Warwick Twp (warranted 1745 and patented 1748) [2][3] [4] and 31 acres in Rapho Twp (warranted 1751 and patented 1762).[2][5] [6]

Marriage and children : Ulrich married Veronica [2], who is often identified in online trees as Veronica Brenneman. His children, named in his 1792 will were :

  1. Peter (d. bef. c.1792, leaving a son, Christian) [2]
  2. John [2]
  3. Daniel [2]
  4. Elizabeth [2]
  5. Jacob [2]
  6. Veronica [2]

  11. Magdalena [2]
  12. Catharine [2]
  13. Christian [2]
  14. Abraham [2]
  15. Ulrich [2]

Death and burial : Ulrich's will was made on 14 Sep 1792, appointing his nephew Daniel (son of Christian) and his own son Daniel as executors, leaving his lands to his two youngest sons Abraham and Ulrich and dividing the remainder of his estate between his wife Veronica and all his children. [2] On 23 Jan 1793, Sebastian Keller and Christian Hernly confirmed that they had witnessed the will of of Ulrich Longenecker of Rapho Township, which had been written in German and thus not transcribed into the register. The will was proven on 14 Mar 1793, and letters testamentary were granted to "Daniel Longenecker (the Nephew) and Daniel Longenecker, Executors therein named".[7][8]
