She arrived in the colony with her parents on the Esmeralda.
In 1869 she married William Barrett in Perth and online records have her name as Maria Looke.
In 1870 she possibly suffer serious burns when her clothes caught fire while assisting the Catholic Schoolmistress in Guildford. She was not expected to survive.
In july 1886 she was indecently assaulted by Charlie Walebun in York.
In 1887 she married Richard Galloway in York and online records have her name as Maria Barrett.
Later they moved to Albany.
She died age 85 and she was predeceased by her husband. Her death notice lists three of her daughters.
She is buried in Karrakatta Cemetery.
