Racehorse Owner Dies.
Sir Percy Lyham Loraine the racehorse owner, who was elected a member of the Jockey Club in 1944, died yesterday at his home in Wilton Crescent, London. He was 80. His horse Ambergris won the Musidora Stakes at York last week and is well fancied for the Oaks next week.
Note by Martin C. Styan: The newspaper reports on his death accessible on findmypast mainly present him as a racehorse owner.
According to the wikipedia article, he was the 12th and last Baronet Loraine of Kirkharle. He served as British Ambassador to Iran, Greece, Egypt, Turkey and Italy.
