The book Settlers of the Beekman Patent contains over 80 pages of members of the Losee family, though Phebe is listed amongst the "other" Losees, meaning that the author was unable to place Phebe within any of the Losee family groups whose genealogies he lists. The introduction to the Losee family section says: "The Losee family was in Beekman as early as 1744 and many in the family made it their home through the end of the 18th century. The emigrant ancestor of this family was Jan Cornelis Lozier de Zeeuw who married Janneken Pieters and was of Bushwick, NY. The had two sons born before they came to New Netherlands."[1] One son born in the Netherlands is thought to have been born about 1648 in the province of Zealand.
