Malachi Loveland was born May 7th, 1736 in Glastonbury, Hartford, CT.[1] He married Priscilla Norcott, daughter of William Norcott and Priscillay Paine, in 1757. They moved to Middlefield, MA between 1775 and 1780. They had ten children. Malachi bought and ran a gristmill/sawmill. He was Deacon of the Congregational Church. He served in the Revolutionary war as an Ensign in Captain Rudd's Company. He was in the battle of Long Island, Aug 29, 1778.
