Obituary
The following short obituary was published in "Adelaide Observer" on Saturday 21st January 1899.
Death of a Pioneer.
Aldinga, January 11.
Another old pioneer colonist in the person of Mr. Henry Lovelock, sen., passed away last night, after a prolonged illness, aged sixty-seven. Mr. Lovelock came to the colony with his parents in the ship Prince Regent in 1839. For fifty-three years he had lived at Aldinga. His father was one of those who in the early days took up land here and successfully farmed it. Mr. Lovelock, at his father's death, continued on the old farm and for a number of years worked it. During the past sixteen years he had been unable to work owing to his suffering from bronchitis, but his sons had carried on the farm under his direction. Mr. Lovelock was highly respected by those who knew him. He has left a widow, five sons, two daughters, and eleven grandchildren. [5]
