Probate
Abner Lowden of Duxbury, yeoman died intestate and on 6 May 1776, his widow Mercy was granted the administration of his estate.[3]
His inventory was taken on 23 July 1776 in Duxbury. The widow represented the estate as insolvent due to the estate being "under difficulties being in debt and many accounts open against it and was burnt out of his house". [4]
In 1778 a list of claims and creditors was recorded.[5]
In 1784, an account of his estate by Mercy Keen, sole surviving administrator of his estate was recorded which included debts paid, depreciation of paper money, necessaries allowed to the widow, provisions to the family, and administration fees.[6]
