Biography

Elizabeth Jane White Lowery, the eldest child and first daughter of Charles Lowery and his wife Janet Stark Parlane, was born at Tokomairiro in South Otago, New Zealand on 29th April 1896. ^[1]

When she was 75 Elizabeth died on 24th March 1972 at Palmerston North in Manawatu in the North Island of New Zealand. ^[2] Three days later she was buried at the Kelvin Grove Cemetery in Palmerston North. ^[3]

It should be noted that Elizabeth's Death Certificate records her date of birth as 29th April 1897, one year later than her actual year of birth. Such mistakes or miscalculations are quite common on death records as the people involved can't be consulted or correct any errors.
