Biography

Hugh Lowther, son of Hugh and Mabel Lancaster Lowther, born 1460 and died 1511. He married Anne Threlkeld, daughter of Lancelot and Margaret Bromflete Threlkeld. Her mother was the daughter and heir of Henry Bromflete, Lord Vescy and widow of John Clifford, father of Henry, Lord Clifford.

They were the parents of:

  1. Sir John
  2. Lancelot m Joan, daughter of Hugh Fleming,
  3. Robert
  4. Mabel m John Leigh
  5. Joan m John Fleming.

He was made a Knight of the Bath at the marriage of Prince Arthur, eldest son of Henry VII, and Catherine of Aragon in 1501. [1][2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
