Biography
Two sons born to Edward and Elizabeth were named Edward and died as children. Their youngest son was named Edwards (with an "s") which was his mother's maiden name. He is sometimes erroneously called Edward IV.
Edwards Lucas was born at his father's estate called "Elmwood" 2.4 rniles south of Shepherdstown. He lived and died in Shepherdstown. This part of Virginia became part of West Virginia, in 1863, at the onset of the American Civil War.
Edwards Lucas is buried in the Lucas Family Cemtery, on the Elmwood estate. [1]
