When Maria (Marie) Alice Lugo was born on April 26, 1906, in San Benito, Texas, her father, Onofre, was 51, and her mother, Refugia, was 29. She married William Carl Rogers on January 29, 1941, in Hidalgo, Texas. She then married William Charles Nothaf on September 15, 1952, in Hidalgo, Texas. She died on October 10, 2001, in Weslaco, Texas, at the age of 95.
