Biography
Vivian was a teacher
Vivian Norene Lusk was born on 15 April 1905 in Penelope, Hill County, Texas, United States. Her parents were James Haywood Lusk (1879 - 1963) and Martha Eva (Grimes) Lusk (1887 - 1976).[1]
When the 1910 United States Census was taken, Vivion, who was 5 years old, was incorrectly enumerated as a male. She was living in the household of her parents in Stamford, Jones County, Texas.[2]
Vivian was 14 years old and living in the household of her parents in Jones County, Texas when the 1920 United States Census was taken.[3]
Vivian Lusk and Joseph Riley Miller were married on 16 June 1928 in Taylor County, Texas.[4] They were the parents of two children who are likely still living.[1]
Vivian, her husband Joseph, their baby, and Joseph's widowed father were living together in Taylor County, Texas. when the 1930 United States Census was taken.[5]
Vivian and her family were still living in Taylor County when the 1940 United States Census was taken. The household now included two children. Vivivan's father-in-law still lived with them.[6]
Vivian, her husband, and one of their children comprised their household when the 1950 United States Census was taken. They were still living in Taylor County.[7]
Vivian graduated from Avoca High School, Taylor County, Texas in 1922. She then obtained a teaching degree from North Texas State University. She held teaching positions in Avoca, Lystra, and Centerline, Texas. She was very active in the Parent-Teacher Association for many years and served in leadership positions for the organization.[1]
Vivian was of the United Methodist faith and was a member of Potosi United Methodist Church. She served as the church pianist and treasurer for 40 years. [1]
Vivian Norene (Lusk) Miller passed away at her home in Potosi, Taylor County, Texas on 26 November 1991. She was 86 years old.[8] She was buried in Potosi Cemetery, Potosi, Taylor County, Texas.[1][9]
