1942-2023 Joyce Ellen Simpson Joyce Ellen Simpson, 80, just one day shy of her 81st birthday, passed away peacefully at home on April 13th, 2023. Joyce was born on April 14th, 1942 in Shenstone, NB, the daughter of the late Guy and Florence (Alward) Lutes. Joyce worked as a cook at several different establishments over the years. She enjoyed knitting, was an avid reader and enjoyed time spent gardening. Her first priority in life was her God and she was an active member of the Salem Baptist Church. Next to her God was her family. Joyce was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who always supported her girls to no end. Mom's door was always open and gave them a soft place to land, this was also passed down to her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Her face would light up when they were around and she was so proud of all their accomplishments. She always looked forward to sliding with the family as she was a big kid herself. She has left many cherished memories to cling to. "Being a mother is the most important job in the world, being a grandmother is the most fun." She will be deeply missed by her spouse, Charles Nickerson; daughters, Cindy Taylorson, Tracy Ahearn (Tim), Monica Dawson (Dale Wright) all of Shenstone; her treasured grandchildren, Sheri (Rylie) AB, Ashley (Brandon) of Hillsborough, Chelsey (Dean) of Shenstone, Troy (Ashly) BC and Wesley BC and by her precious great grandchildren, Alexis, Nicholas, Avery, Claire, Lauren, Jaxon, Alison, Zachery, Oden, Ayla and Charlie Grace "Sally"; brothers, Ralph Lutes (Dorothy) of BC and Robert "Bob" Lutes of Hillsborough. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and her extended family. Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Clarence and Earl and sister, Virginia McKenna.
