Myrtle Barnes
Mrs. Myrtle Wynona Barnes, 88, Idabel, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, April 2, in McCurtain Memorial hospital.
Born October 2, 1881, she had been a resident of Idabel since 1909 moving from Garvin. She was the widow of the late T. J. Barnes, early county law pioneer and developer. She was a member of the Methodist church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen House of Garland, Tex, and Mrs. Inez Drane of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5, in the First United Methodist church of Idabel. Arrangement and burial in the Denison cemetery are under the direction of Norwood-Welch Funeral Home.
McCurtain Daily Gazette, Friday, April 3, 1970 ~~ T J Barnes, of Gillham in the county of Sevier and state of Arkansas, aged 26 years, and Miss Myrtle Luttrell, of Pullman in the county of Sevier and the state of Arkansas, aged 18 years, were married on the 12th day of August A.D. 1900, in the State of Arkansas, County of Sevier.
