Mary Lyons, daughter of John Lyons, was born in 1845 probably in County Galway, Ireland. She married on 9 July 1862 at Leitrim, Diocese of Clonfert, County of Galway to Thomas Manion. She immigrated with her husband and young children in 1866, settling in Manchester New Hampshire. She passed away in 1910 and is buried in St. Joseph Cemetery (old) in Bedford, New Hampshire.
Ancecdotes: Mary (Manning) Baker relates: "My grandmother practically worked herself to death. They story was, that she would give birth and get up and take care of the boarders." (Indeed the city directories show that she ran a boarding house for many years on Lowell Street in Manchester NH). Mary (Manning) Webster stated similarly, that she "worked herself to death."
