Louisa married Samuel Powers about 1866-1867. A marriage record has not been located in Morgan, Montgomery or Bath counties. It is suspected that they married right after the end of the Civil War. Son Rainey is not shown and it is suspected that he died between 1870 and 1880. Samuel's death is listed as 4 August 1874 in a FamilySearch profile.[5] References were not provided so it is uncertain if this was the actual death date. The place of death is listed as Menifee County, Kentucky, which is likely accurate as the family resided in Menifee County per census records. Samuel's burial location is unknown.
Louisa (Lyons) Powers (age 46) married James Newton Frisby (age 44) on 2 January 1892 at Menifee County, Kentucky.[6] James' first wife, Mildred (Ingram) Frisby had died on 11 January 1892.[7] See also Research Notes below. Louisa was step-mother to several of James' children.
In the 1900 census Louisa (age 55) was the wife of James Frisby (age 52) at Magisterial District 1, Menifee County, Kentucky, United States.[8]

James and Louisa relocated to Oklahoma sometime after the 1900 Census. In the 1910 census, Louisa (age 62) was the wife of James N Frisby at Milburn Ward 2, Johnston County, Oklahoma, United States.[9]

Louisa died in on 26 Feb 1934 and is buried in the Egelston Cemetery, Menifee County, Kentucky. Her grave marker shows her last name as Powers, indicating that she was perhaps divorced from James Frisby. [13] It is suspected that Samuel may also be buried here, but a grave record has not been located. James Frisby died on 25 June 1935 and was buried at Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn, Johnston County, Oklahoma, United States.[14]
