Ignace Légaré was born on 22 Jan 1771 in Loretteville, Province of Québec, son of Jean Baptiste Légaré (1740 - 1822) and Marie Marguerite Plamondon (1744 - ).
His brother was Jacques Légaré (1778 - 1861).
Ignace (24) married Marie Parent (~32) (>1762 - ) on 27 Jan 1795 in Notre-Dame de Québec, Bas-Canada. Their children were:
- Ignace Légaré (1797 - 1862)
- Julie Legare (~1800 - ).
Ignace died on 8 Nov 1856 in Québec, Bas-Canada aged 85.
