Biography

Francis Michael MacCarthy was born about 1804, the son of Michael Stephen Joseph MacCarthy and his wife Mary Mead. Educated at Peterhouse, Cambridge, he was ordained deacon on 14 Jun 1829 and priest on 6 Jun 1830. He served as curate of Rushden from 14 Jun 1829, vicar of Loders from 21 Jan 1835, and rural dean of Bridport. In 1835 he married Frances Mary Robinson. From 1848 he was vicar of St Mark, Clerkenwell,^[1] and then in 1872 vicar of Wakefield. He passed away in 1891.
