He is noticed in Ferguson's work[1] in the Marriage Register of the Scots Brigade as being contracted to marry, 15 May 1722, Clara Clark, the widow of Sergeant Alexander Morison.
He is mentioned as being a Sergeant in Captain MacLean's company, likely Captain Peter Maclaine, Colonel Cunningham's Regiment.
John MacDonald must have died c. 1736 as Cara Clarke marries a Sergeant MacLeod and has another child in 1738.
