Oliver Mace was born February 21, 1916 at Vermillion, Alberta, moved to the Innisfail district In 1927 and farmed there until his retirement In 1980. He remained in the area and town until his death. Ollie served his country In W.W. 2 and saw active service for six and half years. Ollie achieved the rank of major and was awarded the D.S.O. for action In Italy. [1]
Ollie was a loving husband, father and friend, and will be forever missed. Ollie was survived by his loving wife Margaret, his daughters, Carolyn (Dennis), Judy (Michael), brother, Bill (Eva) and sister Hilda. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday night at the Metcalf Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be held for the late Ollie Mace Saturday, December 21, 2002 at St. Marks Anglican Church, 4915 52 Street, Innisfail with the Reverend Ken Wells officiating. Interment at the Innisfail Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Innisfail Health Care or the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Central Alberta Chapter, Suite 212, 4711- 51 Ave. Red Deer, Alberta T 4 N 6H8. Arrangements are entrusted to Metcalf Funeral Chapel, 4200 - 49th Ave. Innisfail, Alberta.[2]
