Note: Clarence E. Moore writes: 2 John Magee born circa 1783 in Georgia. We have no reliable record on this. family, as there are so many John Magees, that he cannot be identified. Some records say he had 3 sons, James, William, and Newman, but this has. not been proved. Some records sat thet John died in Alabama or Arkansas,. but we believe he died in Missoure Territory as John Magee signed the Will. of Felix McGee in 1817 in St. Louis County, Missouri Territory. 2 Norma Karter states: 2 There is a James McGee and Nancy McGee listed in the Pope Couney, Ak census. We believe this Nancy to be Newman's mother. There is no evidence of this;. however, the migratory pathe of the McGee's and the ages fit.
