James served with the 960th Engineer Aviation Topographic Company during WW2. ^[1]

He was the only child born to Charles Major and Sarah Truex. ^[2]

His father died when he was just 2 years old. In 1900, he was living with his mother in the household of her widowed mother. ^[3]

He married Whilelmina Hahn before 1920, when they were living with his (now remarried) mother. ^[4] They had 2 children. ^[5]

After already having served his country during the Great War, James enlisted once again in 1942. ^[6]

He passed away at the age of 60 ^[7], and was laid to rest at the Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, New jersey. ^[8]
