Giles Anthony Mandeville was born on May 3, 1777, in Pompton Plains, New Jersey to Anthony Mandeville and his wife, Willempye Elleneria Van Houten. He married Elizabeth Doremus on September 20, 1798, in his hometown. They had ten children in 21 years. He died on May 23, 1864, in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, having lived a long life of 87 years, and was buried there.
