Biography

Katherine Marsh Shepherd, 84, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Alexandria Place in Gastonia. A native of Randolph County, she was the daughter of the late David Branson & Ruth Seawell Marsh. Mrs. Shepherd taught in The Gaston County School System for more than 35 years. She was a member of South Point Baptist Church and the Belmont Gad-A Bouts. Survivors include her sons and daughters in law, David & Susan Shepherd of Belmont, Charles & Natalie Shepherd of Claremont and Joe Shepherd of Gastonia; grandchildren, Joshua Shepherd, Zachery Shepherd, Jacob Shepherd, Brian Shepherd and Melissa McDaniel; great granddaughter, Makensie McDaniel; brother, John S. Marsh of Woodside, NY.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ottis Shepherd and her brother, James Marsh. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, June 27, 20009 at South Point Baptist Church with Dr. James C. Hilton and Reverend Joe Lawing officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
