Biography

24 Mar 1270/71 : A writ of certiorari after the death of Aline la Mareschale, enquired whether the deceased enfeoffed Alice de Carhou her daughter deceased of the manor of Aselakelby for life only or otherwise.[1]

Aline Marshal. Writ of certiorari whether the said Aline enfeoffed Alice de Carrou her daughter, deceased, of the manor of Aselokby in Lincolnshire, for life only or otherwise. 24 March 55HIII. The said Aline enfeoffed Alice de Carrou of the manor of Aselokeby for life, and after her death it ought to revert to the heirs of the said Aline.[2]

MARSHALL ALICE Daughter of John III Marshal, wife of William II Carew

[CFR HIII] 27 December 1230 John Marshal has made fine with the king by 200 marks for having custody of the lands and heirs of Nicholas of Carew until the heirs come of age, with the marriage of the same heirs. Order to the sheriff of Berkshire that, having accepted security from John for the aforesaid 200 marks, he is to cause him to have full seisin of all lands formerly of Nicholas in his bailiwick with their appurtenances, of which he was seised on the day he died.
