Biography

Martin Marson was born in September of 1845 in Denmark. He married Elsie S (alternately Elsa K) Christine Nelsen approximately 1873 in Denmark.[1][2] Martin, Elsie and their four eldest children emigrated from Denmark on 14 December 1884.[2] At least two additional children were born in Pennsylvania.

Martin became a naturalized citizen on 14 September 1896.[2] In 1900, Martin was working as a tanner, and his eldest son, John Chris Marson, had married and was living nearby. Martin and Elsie's household included their younger children:

  • Marie, born 29 April 1877 in Denmark
  • Martin, born 21 December 1881 in Denmark
  • Valentine 'Tina', born 14 February 1884 in Denmark
  • Anna, born 27 June 1885 in Spring Creek, Warren County, Pennsylvania
  • Johanna 'Hannah', born December 1888 in Pennsylvania.

Elsie died on 30 September 1902,[3] and by 1910, Martin and his youngest daughter Hannah lived with daughter Tina and her husband, John Dahlstrand.[4]

Martin died sometime after 1910.
