Biography

Pedro Antonio was born in 1764 to Manuel Martín and Maria Dorotea Teresa Romero. [1] In 1790 he married María Ignacia de Jesús García[2]and they had at least six children: Juan Antonio, José Andrés, María de la Luz, María Cecilia, Maria de la Luz, and María Salome. In 1806 he married María Jacinta Aragón)[1][3] and they had three known children: José Benito, José Francisco, and José Mariano. There was an impediment to their marriage that had to receive a dispensation in order to proceed. Apparently not knowing they were related (third cousins), they had sexual relations and decided to marry. The Church granted the dispensation on the grounds that "both parties were widowed, had caused a scandal, and had engaged in sexual relations without knowing they were related."[1] Pedro Antonio died in 1849.[4]
