Francisco was born about 1672 to Luís Martín Serrano II and María Antonia de Miranda.[1][2]
He arrived safely in El Paso del Norte after the Pueblo Rebellion with the rest of his family.[3] In about 1692 he married Juana Laurera and they had one daughter, Margarita, but Juana died about July 1693 and was buried in El Paso.[4] After he returned to New Mexico with the colonists, he married María Juana García in 1694.[4] They had twelve children:
