Biography
Minerva Martin was born on March 14, 1848 in Hawkins, Tennessee, United States, daughter of Aaron Martin (1812–1896) and Sarah Vermillion (1812– ).
Minerva married William A Cope (born in 1844 in White, Tennessee; son of John Cope and Rebecca (Felt) Cope). [1]
In the 1850 census Minerva (age 4) was in Hawkins, Tennessee, United States.[2] Aaron Martin 38, Sarah Martin 39, Jane Martin 14, George Martin 10, Ambrose Martin 8, Emeline Martin 6, Minerva Martin 4, Anderson Martin 2.
In the 1880 census Minerva (age 30), Keeps House, was the wife of William A. Cope in District 6, Grainger, Tennessee, United States.[3] William A. Cope 34, wife Minerva Cope 30, son John Cope 10, son Milus Cope 6, daughter Jennie Cope 4, daughter Rebecka J. Cope 2.
In the 1900 census Minerva (age 51) was the wife of William Cope in Civil District 6, White, Tennessee, United States.[4] William Cope 53, wife Minerva Cope 51, son Rufus Cope 17, son William L Cope 12.
In the 1910 census E (age 55) was the wife of William Cope in Wellsford, Kiowa, Kansas, United States.[5] William Cope 63, wife E Minerva Cope 55.
In the 1920 census Minervia (age 70) was the wife of William A Cope in Wellsford, Kiowa, Kansas, United States.[6] William A Cope 72, wife Minervia Cope 70.
Minerva died on January 21, 1927 in Kansas, United States, aged 78.[7]
