Biography

Iantha Jane Martin, daughter of James Taylor Martin and Charlotte J. (McCully) Martin, was born on 29 Jan. 1859 in Illinois.[1][2] She appeared on the census of 25 June 1860 in the home of her parents at Simms, Edgar County, Illinois.[3] She appeared on the census of 16 July 1870 in the home of her brother at Indian Creek, White County, Illinois.[4]

She married John Calvin Adams, son of William J. Adams and Mary (Marlin) Adams, in 1878 in White County, Illinois.[2][1]

She and John appeared on the census of 7 June 1880 at Indian Creek, White County, Illinois. They were listed next to her brother.[5] She and John appeared on the census of 4 May 1910 at Barren, Jackson County, Arkansas.[6]

Iantha died on 2 Feb. 1940 at Tuckerman, Jackson County, Arkansas and was buried at Bradford Cemetery.[1] Iantha's death certificate has the name of the cemetery, but there does not seem to be a Bradford Cemetery in Jackson County and she does not have a memorial in any other cemetery.
