According to the manifest Aunt Ruth Werking gave me a copy of, The father, was an itinerant preacher. The Davis' were Quakers and they moved around alot due to truck farming and tobacco growing. They would grow vegetables, put them on the truck and go around selling them. They became a big family with 10 kids and they were all hardworkers and successful in establishing businesses and later owned greenhouses in Centerville and also Muncie Indiana. In the photo I took of the copy Aunt Ruth sent to me from her manifest about the Martindale/Davis family, their children are seated together. Each one seated has their spouse standing behind them. Going from left to right and listing the seated one then spouse, is as follows: Mary Ellen Hiestand, Vern R.Davis, Edna and Frank Spotts,Esther and Verl Davis,Maxine and Glenn, Betty and Ernie Davis,Bert Davis. Anna Martindale with husband Fred Davis, Clarice and Paul,Fern and Gilbert Stahl,Gladys and Robt. Bisel and Virginia Davis is seated on the end but I dont know who is standing behind her.
