His estate was granted his father James Mason Sr with brothers John and Coffey as his sureties. In May of 1836 in Hyde County court it was granted to his living brothers/sisters: John, Allen, ames, Isabel Gibbs, Kisiah (Kesiah) Hutson and Elinor (Eleanor) Sawyer
