Cairo "Carrie" Victoria Mason was born ion January 7, 1870, to Manley Mason and Lucy (Dyer) Mason, in Washington County, Ohio, where she was raised.
In 1888 Carrie married Charles Everett Garrett, the son of Joseph and Sarah (Stainbrook) Garrett, in Ohio. They settled in Muskingum County, Ohio, and had the following children:
Homer Joseph Garrett (1890–1973)
Lester Everett Garrett (1893–1971)
Marguerite May (Garrett) Waltermire/Tanner (1898–1963)
Marie Faye Garrett (1898–1902)
Twin Boy 1 Garrett (1906–1906)
Twin boy 2 Garrett (1906–1906)
Beatrice Garrett (1909–1909)
Carrie and Charles had two sets of twins of which only one child reached adulthood. Only three of their seven children reached adulthood.
Charles was a coal miner to support his family. Carrie died at only 47 years of age in the fall of 1917. Charles would live on until 1941 when he passed at around 71 years old. Their bodies are buried together in the Duncan Falls Cemetery In Duncan Falls, Muskingum County, Ohio, along with several Garrett and Mason relatives.
