Biography

Rid was born on 14 Oct 1884 in Tennessee. He was the son of Thomas Massey and Margaret Austin. He passed away in Counce, Tennessee on 24 Sep 1927 and was buried in the White Sulpur Cemetery, Counce, Tennessee on 27 Sep 1927.^[1][2]

1900 Census: Rid is 17 and living in the household of his parents in Tishomingo. Also residing in the home are Rid's 6 siblings; M. (19), Dora (13), Cora (11), Lulu (7), Etta (5), and Ross (1).^[3]

1910 Census: Rid, age 26, is married to Gertrude Baird and living Hardin County, Tennessee where Rid is a farmer. The Census record reflects that Rid and Gertrude have been married for 4 months.^[4]

21 Dec 1922: Rig marries Myrtle Barnett in Hardin County, Tennessee^[5]
