Biography

Hardin Maupin is the descendant of a Huguenot emigrant.
This profile is part of the Maupin Name Study.

Hardin W Maupin was born in Kentucky in 1820. He was the son of Dabney Maupin and Mary Polly Shifflett.

He married Selena Hayes about 1842. Their children:[1]

  4. James Maupin (1847-1918)
  5. William Preston Maupin, (1849–1928)

  8. Levi Thomas Maupin, (1857–1936)
  9. Lorenzo Maupin (1861-1904)

The 1850 Census[3] shows him at age 29 with his wife and five children in Howard County, Missouri.

The 1860 Census[4] shows him at age 39 with his wife and seven children in Boonslick Township, Howard County, Missouri.

Selina died in 1865.

He married Melvina Hayes on 8 Jul 1866 in Howard County, Missouri.[5] Their child:

  1. Missouri Ann (Maupin) Hayes (abt.1867-1937)

The 1870 Census[6] shows him at age 50 with his wife and four children in Boons Lick Township, Howard County, Missouri.

The 1880 Census[7] shows him at age 60 with his wife two children and a newphew in Boons Lick Township, Howard County, Missouri.

He died in 1883,[8] and is buried at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Lisbon, Howard County, Missouri.
