Biography

Hezekiah May was the son of John MAY & Prudence BRIDGE.

On 27 Apr 1721 in Wethersfield, CT he married Anna STILLMAN (daughter of George Stillman & Rebecca Smith) born on 6 Apr 1699 in Hadley, MA & died on 7 Nov 1767 in Wethersfield, CT in her 69th year.

He served as a religious Deacon.

1783 Obituary: "Died, at Weth., the third inst., Deacon Hezekiah MAY, in the 87th yr. of his age. For several years he represented that town (Wethersfield, CT) in the General Assembly. The soundness of judgment for which he was conspicuous, he retained in a very singular degree to the last. His office in the church, which he sustained for a great length of time, he discharged with fidelity, being remarkable for ruling his children and his own house well. Through life he supported an exemplary Christian character. His last illness, which was distressing, he endured with uncommon patience in the near view of his dissolution, and while in the agonies of death, he enjoyed that serenity and comfort, which arise only from true religion. "Mark the perfect man and behold the upright; for the end of that man is peace".

Per wargs he was a 6th Great grandparent of American President George W. BUSH.
