Kate "Katie" Belle May was born about September 1907 in Sussex County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Joe May and Martha Bailey.

She married George Robert Chambliss on October 18, 1925 in Sussex County, Virginia.

Katie passed away on January 31, 1971 in Petersburg, Virginia. She is buried in Dinwiddie Memorial Park in Dinwiddie, Virginia.
