Rose was born about 1874. She was the illegitimate daughter of Elizabeth Mayfield[1]. Her mother married Henry Blackburn two years after Rose's birth. In all census records Rose's surname was Blackburn, but she married William James Robinson on 21 May 1896 under the name "Rose Anna Mayfield" giving her mother's name, "Mother Betsy Mayfield", in the place for the Bride's father - this makes it unlikely that Henry Blackburn was her biological father. The wedding took place at Billinghay, the grooms father was Matthew Robinson and the witnesses were Henry Blackburn and Elizabeth Blackburn[2]
The couple had three daughters:
Elizabeth Robinson (b. 1898 in Hildyke)
Alice Edith Robinson (b. 1899 in Hildyke)
Hilda Robinson (b. 1904 in Wrangle)
In 1901 the couple lived at Willows Lane in Sibsy. William was a Waggoner on the Farm[3]:
Rose Anna Robinson passed away in 1930. She was 55 years old[5]
