Elizabeth was born in 1883, parents Nelson D McBride & Martha Jane Harvey.
On 31 March 1901 the McBrides lived at Monree, Donacloney, County Down. [1] Head of Family was John McBride (50) Farmer with his Step mother, widow Mary Jane McBride (63) and his nephew James McBride (10) Scholar and nieces Lizzie McBride (18) & Maggie McBride (14) Dressmaker.
In 1903 Elizabeth McBride, dressmaker, had a daughter, Irene, who died, aged 9 months in the same year.
Joseph Dowds married Elizabeth "Lizzie" McBride on 28 March 1910 at Donacloney, County Down. [2] Fathers Joseph Dowds (weaver) & ------ , Witnesses Robert McBride & Edith Dowds. Her father, Nelson McBride, might not be listed even though he was alive as Elizabeth had an illigitmate daughter that may have caused a division within the family.
On 2 April 1911 the Dowds family lived in Monree, Donacloney, County Down [3] with Lizzie's single uncle, John McBride (65) Farmer & Brethern with Robert McBride (22) Clerk, James McBride (20), Emma McBride (16), Lavinia McBride (14) all Methodist and Joseph Dowds (27) Clerk & Lizzie Dowds (27), both Presbeterian, all born in Co. Down.
Husband Joseph passed away in 1918.
