Patrick Crook wrote on Oct 18, 2002:
"Bob left the seminary at the outbreak of WW1 only to be wounded in 1915 in France. He had been a keen sportsman and as the damage was permanent (I think it was a tendon), he lost this facility. During WW2 he rented Malvern Cottage in Grendon whilst he stayed down in Surrey in the Country's Highways dept. as Chief Draughtsman. Malvern Cottage was the home of Sadie (my mother's sister), Jack & John Skevington until around 1937/8 and was where your father [Hughie McCarthy] took a 9.5mm film when we came to stay with them. I am pretty sure that both you [Patrick McCarthy] and Molly are on this very short film as well as myself, Mary & Caroline. I still have the film, rather damaged from the toy projector I had, and an 8mm copy."
