Johannah McCartny was born c. 1823 in Ireland. She died April 30, 1888 in Lawrence, Essex, Massachusetts at age 56.

Daughter of John McCarney and Mary (Unknown).

Johannah McCartny married David Keefe in 1849 in Cork, County Cork, Ireland.

1880 United States Census, Lawrence, Essex, Massachusetts: David Keefe is head of household, a laborer (with a disability "feeble") age 55, with wife Joanna Keefe age 60, and children Catherine, working in a woolen mill age 29, William, a conductor on freighter age 25, Johanna, working in a woolen mill age 23, Dennis, working on the railroad age 18, and Charles age 16.
