Biography
Robert Mcclung, son of Samuel Mcclung and Catherine Newell, was born on 1 Feb 1868 in Maybole, Ayr, Scotland.[1]
In the 1871 census Robert (age 3) was the son of Samuel Mcclung in Old Lagg Cottage, Maybole, Ayrshire.[2]
In the 1881 census Robert (age 12) was the son of Samuel McClung at 99½ High St, Ayr, Ayrshire. He was a Scholar.[3]
In the 1891 census Robert (age 23) was the son of Cathrine McClung at 10 Green St Lane, Newton on Ayr, Ayrshire. He was a Grocer.[4]
Robert McClung, 28, Assistant Grocer, Newton, Ayr, son of Samuel McClung, Coachman (Decd.) & Catherine Newall, married Annie Love, 30, daughter of Michael Love and Janet Love m.s. Barrowman, in 1896 in Ayr, Ayrshire.[5]
In the 1901 census Robert (age 33) was the head of household at 34 Wellington St, Ayr, Ayrshire. He was a Labourer In Shipyard.[6]
He passed away in 1942.
