Biography

John Ervin McClurg was born on June 24, 1871, in Wapello, Iowa. He was the son of William McClurg and Louisa Wright, his father, William, was 22 and his mother, Louisa, was 15.

He married Jennie Frances Thrift on February 9, 1892, in Greene, Iowa. They had five children in 12 years. He died on January 7, 1932, in Carroll, Iowa, at the age of 60, and was buried in Jefferson, Iowa.
