LYONS - Leola C. Groth, 92, died Nov. 29, 2005, at Good Samaritan Center, Lyons. She was born July 31, 1913, in Stafford, the daughter of Clarence and Nancy Henry McCreight. She graduated from Sterling High School and attended Sterling College for two years. A resident of Lyons since 1976, formerly of Bushton and Sterling, she was a homemaker and a former X-ray Technician for Truehart Clinic, Sterling. She belonged to United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Lyons Music Club, all at Lyons. She was a former member of the Double Seven Club, Bushton. On Nov. 26, 1936, she married Vernon E. Groth at Sterling. He survives. Other survivors include: a son, Wayne, Danville, Calif.; a daughter, Alyce Meredith, Gunnison, Colo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight McCreight. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Lyons, with the Rev. Cindy Watson presiding. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery.. Memorials may be sent to Bushton United Methodist Church, Lyons United Methodist Church or to Lyons Good Samaritan Center, all in care of the funeral home, 214 West Ave. South, Lyons, KS 67554.
