Nellie and her older sister, Lela, were born in Kosciusko County, Indiana. [1] Nellie married Kelsey Henry Pressnall at age eighteen, on October 8, 1895 in Kosciusko County, Indiana. [2] They had a son, Clair McCrum Pressnall, their only child, the following year. They are shown living in Osolo Township, Elkhart City, Elkhart, Indiana in the 1900 Census.[3] By the 1920 Census, they have moved to Missouri.[4] Nellie and Kelsey eventually divorced and she remarried Thomas Gilbert. Her death certificate lists cause of death as "clothing ignited at home by open heater." She died in hospital in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri on February 1, 1965
