Margaret was born in Milan, Quebec and moved to Plenty, Saskatchewan with her parents to homestead in about 1910. Margaret attended "Normal School" in Saskatoon and earned a Teaching Certificate. She taught school in rural Saskatchewan. She married Bert Hadley in 1928 and farmed with him North of Dundurn for about 10 years. The "dirty thirties" were hard on farmers in the area and they sold the farm and moved into Dundurn where Bert opened a garage where he repaired vehicles and sold fuel. Eventually the business grew to include farm machinery and Buick sales. Margaret was an active member of the United Church Women group all of her life. She was an upstanding woman who created a stable Christian home where she raised four children to adulthood and was a loving grandmother to 15 grandchildren.
