Biography

According to the Miller family information compiled in 1968 by Margaret Miller Moore and Samuel Mitchell Miller and wife of Los Angeles, and by John Albert Kelly Miller and wife Willa Bunch Miller of Julesburg, CO.

A veteran of the War of 1812 who served as a sergeant in the North Carolina Militia. He received a land bounty in Missouri for his service. His first wife was Isabel Edith Baker. He is buried next to his second wife, Priscilla Smith.

Most family trees indicate he is the son of John McDaniel/McDonald and Margaret Russell. He was born Alexander Russell McDaniel, and changed his last name to match after his Father changed his to McDonald sometime between 1825-1830.
